In this work, the presence of lymph node metastases in patients with prostate cancer were examined with respect to the localization in the pelvis at predetermined anatomical regions. In addition, histopathological examination was compared with the molecular pathological one by means of the tumor markers PSA and kallikrein 4. The aim was to define a standard for the lymphadenectomy and to show the benefits of additional common iliac vessels has shown that it optimizes nodal staging as metastases were detected, which is important for the prognostic. In an additional genetic study molecular metastases were discovered, which would have remained undetected by the histopathological examination alone an could have impacted on the recurrence and survival.
