Abstract:
Anxiety disorders are frequent and highly disabling diseases with considerable socio-economic impact. In the treatment of anxiety disorders, benzodiazepines (BZDs) as direct modulators of the GABA(A) receptor are used as emergency medication because of their rapid onset of action.
