Abstract:
BACKGROUND: Hypopharynx and esophagus are occasionally at risk of perforation after cervical spine surgery. Although relatively rare--compared to the frequency of anterior instrumentation--hypopharyngo-esophageal perforation has to be considered as a late complication.
