Abstract:
BACKGROUND: A set of electroencephalographic and auditory evoked potential (AEP) parameters should be identified that allows separation of consciousness from unconsciousness (reflected by responsiveness/unresponsiveness to command). METHODS: Forty unpremedicated patients received anesthesia with remifentanil and either sevoflurane or propofol.
