Chemokines, in particular ligands of the CXCR3 chemokine receptor, play a significant role in the recruitment of immune effector cells into solid carcinomas. In order to increase their intratumoral concentration and thus potentially enhance immunotherapies, studies with breast cancer cell lines were conducted and tumor tissue samples were examined. The results of this thesis confirm known regulation mechanisms of chemokines in the tumor microenvironment, expand to-date knowledge and demonstrate potential pharmacological influence possibilities.
