In the present work, we examined patients with an indication for oral anticoagulation, who needed coronary intervention including the implantation of drug eluting stents and therefore a dual antiplatelet therapy (DAT). These patients received a so-called triple therapy, consisting of an oral anticoagulant, aspirin and an ADP receptor P2Y12 antagonist (clopidogrel or prasugrel). A few studies showed, that prasugrel as part of DAT, is associated with increased bleedings. Therefore the aim of our study was to evaluate the safety and effectiveness of prasugrel as part of triple therapy.
