Respiratory and cardiovascular diseases are important causes of illness and death all over the world. Hybrid fluorescence molecular tomography – X-ray computed tomography (FMT-XCT) system provides anatomical/molecular merged information for analyzing the biological processes. This work focuses on the investigation of the potential of FMT-XCT imaging modality in the quantification and detection of three representative respiratory and cardiovascular diseases, namely, asthma, atherosclerosis and non-small cell lung cancer.
