In this study, the effects of kallikrein-related peptidases KLK4-7 overexpression on gene regulation in OV-MZ-6 ovarian cancer cells were investigated. KLK4-7 overexpression led to significant upregulation of moesin and keratin 19 and downregulation of keratin 7 and jun-B on both mRNA and protein level in OV-MZ-6 cells. Furthermore, KLK5 exerted the strongest impact on gene regulation in OV-KLK4-7 cells. These findings may lead to clinical use of some KLKs and their inhibitors for the diagnosis and treatment of ovarian cancer patients.
