Acute pancreatitis ( AP ) presents a severe (sometimes fatal) course in up to 15 % . Since there are limited therapeutic options, early prognosis is crucial. We studied in 105 patients with AP etiology ( 30 % biliary , 35 % alcoholic) the prognosis, outcome and DRG remuneration . 12 % required intensive care, mortality was 5.7 %. The DRG remuneration was 4154 € ± 5,681 . Ranson- , APACHE II and BISAP score predicted organ failure, intensive care stay and death.
