Neural invasion (NI) and pancreatic neuropathy are defining histological features and independent prognostic factors in human pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma (PDAC), but are not detected in current genetically engineered mouse models (GEMM) of PDAC. The present study provided the first functional and transcriptomic comparison of several GEMM of PDAC with regard to NI and neuropathy, and demonstrated the first truly neuro-invasive GEMM of PDAC upon pancreas-specific depletion of the canonical NFkappaB signaling.
