Within the framework of this thesis a phenomenological combustion model for gas engines with pilot injection was created. Based on experimental investigations at a single cylinder research engine and an injection test rig as well as computations for chemical reaction kinetics, in-cylinder flow and combustion, fundamental assumptions were developed. The model is to be embedded in an engine cycle simulation and is a combination of a package model, which is typical for Diesel engine simulation, and a two-zone model for the premixed combustion.
