Large Scale Numerical Simulations of Geothermal Potentials Using a Distributed Parallel Data Structure

Severe climate changes in the last decades illustrate that a paradigm shift towards regenerative energy generation is necessary. Geothermal energy in combination with heat pumps pose a huge potential for domestic heat generation. However, the simulation of geothermal potential is a non-trivial task due to problems ranging from large domain sizes to settings of boundary conditions.
