A set of different Mo(VI) compounds have been investigated towards their activity in the epoxidation of several olefins using tert-butylhydroperoxid as oxidant. Their performance under biphasic conditions by using different room-temperature ionic liquids was a special point of interest. The stabilities and activities of the catalytic systems were compared to those in common organic solvents. A striking advantage of the utilization of ionic liquids is the possibility to reuse the catalyst.
Furthermore, polyoxomolybdates were generated in situ and applied in the epoxidation of cis-cyclooctene with hydrogenperoxid as oxidant.
