Polysiloxanes are of great industrial interest but their structural diversity is significantly limited in comparison to organic polymer chemistry. The development of synthetic routes and methods to obtain novel oxasilacycles, as well as their application in polymer chemistry as monomer and crosslinking agent, is the main focus of this thesis. Furthermore, a photoinitiated and well controlled polymerization was developed, applying photoacid generators for the acid catalyzed ring opening polymerization of the monomers.
