Abstract:
This talk presents the ongoing effort to develop a fixed grid fluid-structure interaction scheme that can be applied to real world problems of the 3-dimensional interaction of most general structures exhibiting large deformations with incompressible flow. It is based on an eXtended Finite Element Method (XFEM) strategy to enrich the fixed Eulerian fluid field with moving interfaces.
