This thesis deals with the hydrogenation of butadiene-acrylonitrile-copolymers (NBR). As a first target the olefinic double bonds should be hydrogenated. Another part of the research was the hydrogenation of nitrile groups. For these two targets homogeneous as well as heterogeneous catalysts were tested. Predominantly, the heterogeneous catalysts were nickel based and the homogeneous catalysts were ruthenium or rhenium based. With regard to the hydrogenation of nitrile groups this thesis focussed on hydride donor systems.
