In this work, investigations on the phase formation and properties of pnictides and silver(poly)chalcogenidehalides were performed. The existence of orthorhombic, black arsenic was disproved. Besides the synthesis of the first coinage metal-polyarsenide Cu
4Cd
2As
16, a new structure type of Laves phases was prepared. The thermoelectric properties of Ag
5Te
2Cl confirm the influence of low-dimensional interactions on the electronic structure. Furthermore, a measuring system for impedance and Seebeck-coefficients was planned, constructed and set into operation.
