In this thesis from the field of inorganic solid state chemistry ternary intermetallic phases of the systems
A–
T–
Tt (
A = Li, Na, K, Rb, Cs;
T = Ni, Cu, Zn;
Tt = Ge, Sn) and
Ae–Zn–Sn (
Ae = Ca, Sr) are presented. The compounds contain polyanionic
T–
Tt clusters or networks. Besides the synthesis and crystal structure determination, a focus of the work is the analysis of the electronic structure and bonding situation of the compounds. Experimental methods that were employed include single crystal and powder X-ray diffraction methods, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDX) and differential thermal analysis (DTA). Computational studies were carried out with the GAUSSIAN and TB-LMTO-ASA program packages.
