Due to their characteristics the two rhenium isotopes Re-186 and Re-188 are of great interest for the development of new radiopharmaceuticals. An important precursor for this purpose is
fac-[NEt
4]
2[Re(CO)
3Br
3], containing a stable facial [Re(CO)
3]
+-fragment. In this thesis a synthetic pathway was developed to substitute two bromo ligands by
N-heterocyclic carbenes (NHC) under retention of the facial configuration. The synthesized bis-NHC-complexes with the general composition [Re(CO)
3Br(NHC)
2] were isolated and fully characterized. In order to generate a “free” coordination site for other modifications, the last bromo ligand has been substituted by a weak bonded solvent molecule. In the future the synthesized bis-NHC-complexes could be possible precursors for radiopharmaceuticals.
