This dissertation promotes sustainable building by applying life cycle-based multi-criteria decision-making (MCDM). It develops a strategy for optimized planning processes for environmentally friendly building parts and buildings. Through three studies using AHP, ANP, utility analysis (UA), and TOPSIS, it identifies key environmental criteria and shows that UA and TOPSIS are the most practical approaches. MCDM enables transparent, efficient, and holistic decision-making, advancing climate goals and circular building design.
