The purpose of the current study was to investigate the influence of
single-nucleotide-polymorphims of the UCP2- and FTO-gene on the result of a controlled life management intervention in children and adolescents. At the beginning and at the end of an inpatient weight-loss program taking at least four weeks, parameters of fat- and glucose-metabolism, anthropometric data, as well as the relative performance were determined in a total of 371 subjects. Results are showing a significant correlation between the marker genes and the change in parameters collected in the course of therapy.
