Abstract:
This work investigates the potential of three different energy efficiency technologies on a Very Large Crude Carrier: Organic Rankine Cycle and adsorption chiller for waste heat recovery as well as photovoltaics for the integration of Renewable Energy Sources. The analysis uses operational data acquired from an energy management system. It shows that the impact of the weight of each technology is negligible when compared to fuel savings and emission reductions. Based on the sailing conditions id...     »
