Um diese Fragen zu untersuchen wurden Experimente mit Variation verschiedenster Reaktionsparameter bis hin zur
Heck-Reaktion in der Gasphase in einem speziell entworfenen Reaktor durchgeführt. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass gelöste molekulare Pd-Spezies homogenkatalysiert Kupplungsprodukt bilden während die Oberflächenreaktion auf Pd-Partikeln zur Dehalogenierung von Arylhalogeniden führt.
