Abstract:
This thesis addresses two problems of network information theory: coding for relay networks and (accurate) approximations of distributions based on unnormalized informational divergence with applications to network security. For both problems, we develop stronger results with more direct and simpler proofs.

Diese Arbeit untersucht zwei Probleme in Netzwerk-Informationstheorie: Codierung für Relaisnetzwerke und (präzise) Approximationen der Wahrscheinlichkeitsverteilungen basierend auf nicht-normalisierter Kullback-Leibler Divergenz und deren Anwendungen zur sicheren Kommunikation in Netzen. Wir entwickeln für beide Problemstellungen bessere Ergebnisse mit vereinfachten Beweisen.
