In cooperation the Delft University of Technology and the University of Stuttgart have carried out fluidised bed gasification experiments at elevated pressures. The research is aimed at gasturbine powerplants based on airblown gasification with hot gas clean-up. A total number of six experiments were carried, three with browncoal (from the Hambach mining site) and three with pinewood as a fuel. The thermal power output was in the range of 13 to 21 kW during the 5 bar experiments and was 7.8 kW in the pinewood experiment at 1.5 bar.
