This paper discusses the feasibility of integrating electric vehicle concepts into the transport and energy system of cities and urbanized districts respectively as well as rural structured areas. First, the perspectives of electromobility in these areas are described. Among other important factors, the investigation aims at the parameters transport and mobility behavior, renewable energies and charging infrastructure. Subsequently, results of an integration of electromobility in megacities and rural regions are shown. Singapore is used as one area under investigation, while a medium-sized city and a small municipality, both located in Bavaria, Germany, serve as a second investigation area.
