- Abstract:
- Firms increasingly compete through business model innovation. Yet, many firms fail and do not manage to evolve their business models. We analyzed the phenomena of business model evolution based on literature reviews and case studies. Our results include a process model of business model evolution, mechanisms of business model evolution, an overview of requirements for business model tools, and a tool prototype. We contribute to the business model and information systems literature.

- Unternehmen konkurrieren durch Geschäftsmodellinnovation. Dennoch scheitern viele Unternehmen und schaffen es nicht, ihre Geschäftsmodelle kontinuierlich weiterzuentwickeln. Wir haben die Evolution von Geschäftsmodellen mit Literaturrecherchen und Fallstudien analysiert. Unsere Ergebnisse umfassen Mechansimen und ein Prozessmodell der Geschäftsmodellevolution, Anforderungen an Geschäftsmodell-Tools und einen Softwareprototyp. Wir tragen zur Geschäftsmodell-und Informationssystemliteratur bei.
