- Abstract:
- In der vorliegenden Dissertation ist der Einfluss von postoperativen Infektionen auf das Überleben von Patienten mit WHO-Grad II, WHO-Grad III und WHO-Grad IV Gliomen untersucht worden. Dafür wurden die Patienten in eine Kontrollgruppe und in einer Infektionsgruppe eingeteilt. Es zeigte sich kein Überlebensvorteil in der Infektionsgruppe, sondern ein statistisch signifikanter Nachteil der Patienten mit Infektion, insbesondere bei Patienten mit extrazerebralen und systemischen Infektionen.

- In this study we evaluated a large group of glioma patients with postoperative infections, itemized by intracranial, extracranial or systemic infection. Patients with infections had shorter survival than without. There was no survival advantage for patients having suffered a postoperative infection, but the location of the infection made a vast difference in survival time.
