Halogenbrücken, definiert als attraktive nicht-kovalente Wechselwirkung zwischen kovalent gebundenen Halogenatomen und Lewis-Basen, können in der Organokatalyse zur Substratkoordination eingesetzt werden. In dieser Dissertation wird das Konzept der Halogenbrücken-induzierten Halogenidabstraktion auf neue Reaktionen erweitert und die Ionenpaarung von kationischen Halogenbrückendonoren untersucht. Des Weiteren werden chirale Halogenbrückendonoren synthetisiert und als Organokatalysatoren in asymmetrischen organischen Reaktionen angewandt.
