Today, determination of biomarkers in tumor tissues of cancer patients are employed to assess the course of the disease (prognosis) and response to cancer therapeutics. Thus, the protein expression of particular cancer biomarkers, proteases belonging to the family of kallikrein-related proteases as well as the protease urokinase and its inhibitor PAI-1, were quantified in tumor tissues of patients afflicted with cancer of the breast or ovary by enzymoimmunometric tests; the epigenetic status of these factors was determined too. Die Bestimmung von Biomarkern im Tumorgewebe von Krebspatienten wird heutzutage eingesetzt um den Verlauf der Krankheit (Prognose) und das Ansprechen auf Krebstherapeutika abzuschätzen (personalisierte Medizin). Deshalb wurde die Protein-Expression wichtiger Krebsbiomarker, die Proteasen aus der Familie der Gewebekallikreine (Kallikrein-related peptidases) und die Protease Urokinase mit dem Inhibitor PAI-1, in Tumorgeweben von Brust- und Eierstockkrebspatientinnen per Immunhistochemie bzw. durch enzymimmunometrische Methoden bestimmt, und epigenetische Veränderungen dieser Faktoren untersucht. Dazu wurden Standard-Protokolle (SOP) aufgestellt und die klinische Relevanz dieser Biomarker aufgezeigt.     «
