The minimally invasive closure of the left atrial appendage is performed for stroke prevention in patients suffering from atrial fibrillation. To improve the accessibility of the left atrial appendage with the catheter, an interactive planning program was developed in this thesis that works based on preoperative image data. The system calculates a patient-specific catheter shape and automatically generates a bending form. Furthermore, an anatomical model for the planning of the implant size and position is produced.
