During a 19-month school-based prevention project in 15 secondary schools, the following lipids : total cholesterol, LDL-, HDL-cholesterol, LDL/HDL-ratio and triglycerides were examined along with the associations to age, BMI, waist-circumference, the sum of four skinfolds, physical activity and fitness. After seven months the intervention had a significantly positive effect on lipids; after 19 months these changes were weaker and mostly not significant. The sum of four skinfolds correlated strongest with lipids.
