In urolithiasis, hypercalciuria has been considered to be the dominant risk factor for stone recurrence in calcium containing stones. A strictly alimentative diet was a main point in the therapy. This dissertation evaluates the role of hypercalciuria and hypocitraturia for calcium stone recurrence. The result confirms the idea only recently established in literature, that hypercalciuria may not be the only dominant risk factor for calcium stone recurrence. Also citrate clearance seems to be an important factor. These results will have a strong influence both on preventive measures and medical treatment.
