Despite continuous research, most advanced malignant solid tumors develop resistances when treated with chemo- or targeted therapy. In this work, by long term treatment with increasing doses resistant head and neck tumor cells to five substances were created. In order to better understand their mechanisms of resistance, changes in EGFR pathway, stem cell markers, sensitivity to x-ray and alpha radiation, and chemosensitivity were tested. Mutation frequency was measured and found elevated. A mechanism for this elevation was proposed.
