- Abstract:
- Der Einsatz neoadjuvanter Therapien/NCTx verbessert die histopathologischen Befunde/hpB fortgeschr. Pankreaskarzinome. Doch das NCTx-Prinzip des Downstagings führt zu großer prognostischer Unschärfe. Die Verbesserung der hpB korrelierte in dieser 1:1 gematchten Kohortenstudie (NCTx vs. primär operativ) nicht mit verbesserter Mortalität oder Rezidivrate. NCTx wirkt demnach mutmaßlich nicht auf alle Tumorzellen gleichermaßen. Vor allem Patienten mit ausgedehnten (T3/4; N1) Befunden profitierten.
- Translated abstract:
- The use of neoadjuvant therapies/NTx significantly improves histopathological findings/hpf of advanced pancreatic cancer. However, the NTx principle of downstaging leads to large prognostic uncertainty. Improvement in hpf did not correlate with improved mortality or recurrence rates in this 1:1 matched cohort study (NCTx vs. primary surgical). Accordingly, NTx does not affect all tumor cells equally. Especially patients with extensive (T3/4; N1) findings benefited in survival.
