Progressive supranuclear palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative disease, which is difficult to differentiate from idiopathic Parkinson’s disease (IP). However, an early differentiation is necessary, since prognosis and therapeutic approaches vary. Therefore we aimed to reproduce a reduced sensation of thirst among PSP patients as was shown by Stamelou (Stamelou et al. 2011). We were able to reproduce the reduced sensation of thirst. Laboratory parameters and magnetic resonance imaging showed no significant differences between PSP and IP cohorts.
