This work deals with conception, development, and test of an adaptive antenna system for using a digital beam forming technique for receiving LEO-satellite signals. After selecting the system architecture the functional blocks such as passive antenna array, receiver modules, system control, and data acquisition are designed, and described with respect to their properties. The digital signal processing contains, in addition to a calibration function, different algorithms to estimate the direction of arrival, and for beam forming. Synthetically generated data, as well as measured data, is used to evaluate the algorithms performance and real-time characteristics.
