- Die Rolle des Immunglobulin Es (IgE) in der Pathogenese des atopischen Ekzems (AE) ist weiterhin noch nicht gänzlich geklärt. Therapien, welche das Gesamt-IgE beeinflussen, wie die spezifische IgE-Immunapherese (IA) oder auch Omalizumab, zeigten in der Vergangenheit ambivalente Ergebnisse in der Therapie von Patienten mit AE. Daher wurden in dieser Promotion das therapeutische Ansprechen auf die IA und mögliche über die reine IgE-Depletion hinaus zugrundeliegende Wirkmechanismen untersucht.

- The role of immunoglobuline E (IgE) in the pathogenesis of atopic eczema (AE) is yet not fully understood. In the past, treatment options targeting IgE as selective IgE immune apheresis (IA) or omalizumab showed ambivalent therapeutic outcomes in patients with AE. Therefore, clinical outcome to IA and possible mechanisms of actions beyond the sole depletion of IgE have been investigated in this doctoral thesis.
