Beside chondrocyte seeded decellularized xenogenic cartilage, not seeded decellularized xenogenic cartilage, and autologous native auricular cartilage were evaluated as septal replacement. After 3 and 6 months biocompatibility, form stability, and clinical parameters were examined. In all study groups a good biocompatibility without cellular rejection could be found. In both study groups with and without cell seeding a long-term stable and reliable reconstruction of the nasal septum could be achieved.
