The doctoral thesis is based on the performance and evaluation of a test for flow changes on a vascular model, which imitates a section of the human abdominal aorta with both renal arteries. The model is connected to a circulatory system, which approximates the haemodynamics predominant in this vascular section. The flow velocities are measured by means of laser Doppler anemometry and flow profiles for different sections within the vascular model are thus established. In five series of trials, different stents are placed in one of the renal arteries, and the resulting flow changes are analyzed.
