Self-Auditing Konzepte können sowohl zu einer Dezentralisierung der Revisionstätigkeit in multinationalen Unternehmen und Konzernen als auch zu einer eigenverantwortlichen Prüfung der Unternehmensbereiche durch sich selbst führen. Die vorliegende Arbeit identifiziert die Organisationsstrukturen als auch die Unternehmenskultur von Unternehmen, die Self-Auditing als Ansatz für die Interne Revision umsetzen können. Faktoren, die zu einer zufriedenstellenden Qualität des Self-Auditing führen, werden analysiert. Die Revisionaufgaben, die durch Self-Auditing abgedeckt werden können, werden dargelegt. Dabei nimmt die Betrachtung von kleinen und mittleren Unternehmen (KMU) eine Sonderstellung ein. Es wird verdeutlicht, wie die Interne Revision in der Praxis in den Self-Auditing Prozess eingebunden ist.
