Beeinträchtigte Pantomime des Objektgebrauchs bei erhaltener Fähigkeit zur realen Objektbenutzung ist ein häufiges Symptom bei Patienten mit linksseitigen Hirnschädigungen. In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurde der Frage nachgegangen, welche Rolle dem Mangel an taktilem Feedback bei der Pantomime zukommt. Dazu wurde bei 9 Patienten mit linkshemisphärischer Schädigung freie Pantomime, Pantomime mit taktilem Feedback in Form von neutralen Holzobjekten und der reale Gebrauch von 12 Items untersucht. Die Patienten hatten wenig Probleme bei der Objektbenutzung, zeigten aber in gleichem Maße Schwierigkeiten bei der Pantomime mit und ohne Holzobjekt. Hieraus lässt sich schließen, dass der Mangel an taktilem Feedback nicht die einzige Schwierigkeit bei der Pantomime darstellte. Die Herausforderung bei einer Pantomime besteht möglicherweise mehr in dem Fehlen der bei der Anwendung entstehenden mechanischen Umstände und der Notwendigkeit ihrer Darstellung, als im Mangel des taktilen Feedbacks an sich.     «

Disturbance of pantomime of object use is a common symptom after left brain damage. The aim of this study is to investigate weather apraxic patients´ better performance with real tools compared to miming is due to tactile feedback provided by holding the tool. For that 9 patients with apraxia from left hemisphere damage were asked to demonstrate the use of 12 tools and objects under 3 conditions: miming with empty hands, miming with an implement shaped like the handle of the tool, and using the real tool with its corresponding object. Whereas tool use was much better than pantomime in all patients, there was no significant difference between performance of pantomime with empty hands compared to pantomime supported by tactile feedback. That means that tactile feedback restricted to the shape of the handle does not substantially help produce the appropriate action. Maybe the better performance of real than of pretended tool use does not depend on tactile feedback per se, but on the mechanical affordances and constrains provided by the tool.     «
