We examined the effect of cannabinoids (Anandamide, WIN 55,212-2, Methanandamide) and opioids (endomorphine-1/2) and their antagonists (AM630, CTOP)on basal activity, pharmacological pre-stimulated smooth muscle, electrically stimulated contractions and relaxations under non-adrenergic and non-cholinergic circumstances on the smooth muscle in stomach and small intestine of rats. There was no influence on basal activity and pre-stimulated smooth muscle. Anandamide, WIN 55,212-2 and the endomorphines reduced the electrically induced contractions and relaxations. This effect was antagonised by AM 630 and CTOP. Methanandamide had no significant influence.
