The main issue of this research is the emulation of gas characteristics by statistical load profiles. These are used, among other purposes, to enable third party access in the liberalized gas market. Background information and methodical approach, which form the basis for the proceedings, are looked upon in detail. Subsequently, the results are evaluated both quantitatively and qualitatively. Causal coherences and the reliability of findings are critically discussed. Finally, the applied load profiles are used to reproduce gas statistics, which ensures the quality of the results.
