Abstract:
Background of the checksums - Checksums allow to control if files are still in their original state or not. They can be used to detect data manipulation or corruption due to technical issues. Such issues might arise during file transfer, but also for static files on any storage medium. For research data publications in mediaTUM, SHA512 checksums are mandatory.
