Background of the checksums -
Checksums allow to control if files are still in their original state or not. They can be used to detect data manipulation or corruption due to technical issues. Such issues might arise during file transfer, but also for static files on any storage medium.
For research data publications in mediaTUM, SHA512 checksums are mandatory.
Request Form for Research Data Publication on mediaTUM
The TUM University Library offers a free data publication service. Your research data can be made publicly available on mediaTUM, the institutional repository of the Technical University of Munich.
This form allows you to provide the information necessary to publish your data on mediaTUM. Please create metadata and descriptions as detailed as possible, as rich metadata will make your research data collection discoverable, citable, reusable, and accessible in the long term. This, in turn, increases the visibility and traceability of your research and enhances your reputation and impact.
