Finite Control Set Model Predictive Control (FCS-PTC) method has been investigated in the field of electrical drives. In this dissertation, FCS-PTC strategies have been used for Induction machine (IM) and permanent magnet synchronous machine (PMSM). The experimental results show the advantages of the FCS-PTC method against the traditional direct torque control (DTC) method. The method has been adapted into the sensorless applications by means of sliding mode observer (SMO) and model reference adaptive system (MRAS).
