The IT skills shortage is an ongoing problem that requires research and companies to cooperate closely. In this thesis, we investigate different approaches to tackle this challenge. First, we examine the mindset of young IT professionals and provide insights into how companies can attract them. Second, we investigate how key IT professionals can be retained in companies, explaining the effects of work practices, work environments, and contextual change on the career mobility of IT professionals. Third, we explore the integration of boundaryless IT professionals into companies.
