- Abstract:
- Optoacoustic (OA) imaging is an emerging medical imaging modality that uses light excitation and ultrasound detection to visualize biological tissues. The acceptance of OA technologies in clinical practice necessitates that they produce high-quality medical images that can help clinicians to detect and diagnose diseases. This work is dedicated to development of standard enhancement techniques to improve image quality in OA imaging, enabling the operator to detect anatomical features more easily.

- Die Optoakustik (OA) ist eine neuartige medizinische Bildgebungsmodalität. Dabei wird Gewebe mittels Ultraschallwellen visualisiert, welche zuvor durch einen Lichtimpuls angeregt wurden. Für die Diagnose von Krankheiten und die Prognose derer Verläufe sind akkurate Abbildungen des Gewebes mit hohem Informationsgehalt und starkem Kontrast unabdingbar. Im Rahmen dieser Dissertation wurden Methoden zur Steigerung der OA Bildqualität zur erleichterten Erkennung anatomischer Strukturen entwickelt.
