This work deals with the development and evaluation of the tactile device "Tactile Wave Generator" (TWG), which can press dynamic patterns of pressure points into the hand of a driver with 48 solenoids built into the steering wheel rim. TWG as an information system is evaluated as a supplement to the "Haptic Shared Control" (HSC) interaction concept, whereby HSC only supports drivers with steering torque. The results show that torque is the primary factor in steering assistance, but that tactile stimuli alone can direct drivers to different trajectories.
